China Meat Processing and Engineering Centre
China Meat Research Centre (CMRC) is the only specialized meat research institute in China and established in 1986. The main buildings and more than 1000 sets (pieces) of equipment and instruments were aided with a grant from the Japanese government. In Sep. 2000, CMRC was authorized by the Ministry of Science & Technology to establish China Meat Processing and Engineering Centre (CMPEC).
The major departments of CMRC are: R&D department, Training department, Pilot Factory, Beijing Jin Mei Tian Technology Development Co., Ltd., Management department for training building and other administrative offices. In addition, the National Quality Supervision and Test Centre for Meat Products, the Beijing No. 3 Station for Food Quality Supervision and Test, Environment Impact Assessment Centre for Construction Projects, the Asia and Pacific Training Centre on Meat Science and Technology are also subordinated to CMRC.
CMRC has been sticking to principles of "leading in technology, economic independence and integrity first", shedding efforts in "catering to the needs of production, to the whole nation and to the consumers”. As the China Meat Processing and Engineering Centre, aiming at the vital, basic and common problems of meat industry, CMRC does practical supportive development and extends to enterprises to increase the technology level of industry and products constantly and promote trade onto the intensive path of “improving benefits and adding value to products”.
The main tasks of CMRC include: basic research on meat science & technology; applied research processing technology; development of new products and dissemination services of scientific research achievements; R&D of meat processing machinery; meat food quality supervision & test and standards establishment; training for technical & managerial personnel from both domestic and foreign meat processing industries; domestic and international academic exchanges, information collecting; production and marketing of new meat products; development, production and marketing of new meat additives; environment protection research, engineering development, design and impact assessment for construction projects; quality authentication consultancy service.
